The Donald Simpson Centre

The Donald Simpson Community Centre is a vibrant hub dedicated to serving the Redland City community since1987, with a strong emphasis on providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for seniors and people of all ages. The centre offers a diverse array of services, including social, recreational, and educational programs, such as gentle fitness classes, art and craft groups, card games, and bus trips. Its commitment to community well-being extends to providing essential support for various local initiatives.

A testament to its community-focused mission, the Donald Simpson Community Centre proudly serves as the auspice for the Redland Coast Dementia Group. This vital partnership allows the group to operate its programs, including the Redlands Coast Dementia Cafe, a nurturing space for individuals living with dementia and their caregivers. By providing a home and administrative support for the Redland Coast Dementia Group, the Donald Simpson Community Centre plays a crucial role in fostering a dementia-friendly and supportive community, helping to reduce social isolation and ensure that those impacted by dementia feel valued, respected, and connected.

Carer Gateway is an Australian Government program providing free services and support for carers.

If you care for a family member or friend with disability, a medical condition, mental illness, or who is frail due to age, then Carer Gateway can help you.

The Australian Government works with a range of health and carer organisations across Australia, known as Carer Gateway service providers, to deliver services to carers no matter where they live in Australia.

Look Who's Talking

At Look Who’s Talking, we provide evidence-based care through a multidisciplinary team of Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and Music Therapists. We support individuals across the lifespan with a wide range of needs, including communication, swallowing/mealtime management, motor skills, and social connection. Our music therapy group programs for older people and individuals living with dementia, are designed to support cognition, emotions, communication, and social connection through meaningful musical engagement.
